I don't know anything about TMS, but if magnets do have an effect on brain electricity - which certainly isn't impossible to believe - I doubt it's a good idea to try a home version. :)

For the record, when my son was young, I made a year long calendar made up of a curvy path of those exact type of magnets with the days of the month written on them. It took up two posterboard size sheets in our hallway. We put attracting magnets on the bottom of little wooden characters, so that a train went from day to day of the month, and we could count the days to the birthday parties, the start of school, holidays, and other special days.

I never noticed any effect on my brain from the mass of magnets. I did fall in love with them for their holding ability. If there's something thick to put on the refrigerator, those are our go to magnets.

(He outgrew the calendar years ago, but the calendar is still hanging. I painted around it when I painted the hall. I can't take it down until I paint the hall again.)
