Not really. Particularly because the context for the ER "reassurance" was a discussion of his hoping that if I ever thought I was in danger, I shouldn't rely solely on him, but should go to an emergency room. Not that it made any difference to my thoughts on the matter, but he did prove my point.
I need to think of a polite way to tell him that no matter what desensitization work we do, it won't be helpful for that to include stories about him.
It's kind of funny when you think about it...
