--- flutterby: Wow! you made my day... don't think I've ever been told that it's good to have me around. sure feels nice to read that. thank you.
I know how those emotions of guilt and shame can weigh a person down.... it's very difficult.

I was really amazed and rattled. I had already read Sebold's quote in Herman's book and didn't remember. (I don't necessarily recommend Sebold's book.)<<

--flutterby: heh, here I recommended Judith Herman's book and I don't even have a copy. I only read it once, and quickly at that, as it was a library book and it had to be returned promptly.(a former PhD. therapist recommended it to me) I really need to have my own copy so I can reread some of the parts I felt "spoke" to me. I'm so glad you have also found it helpful. About Sebold's book, I don't think I'm to a point where I can read about someone's traumatic experience in detail...fear it would trigger me deep into my childhood and I wouldn't find my way back out.... :o(

thank you again for your kind words.... means so much to me.

with words/reading we go along together- the wounded, the lost- finding some healing and also some peace, being comforted by those that understand.

(sorry not been here much lately.. have some awful health issues that have kept me away and more to come. ugh)

remember to show yourself kindness too.
best to you,

flutterby
