What you are left with is a nice feeling, albeit sad.
Rather than a knot of feeling without resolution.
I'm in the same position, but once my father said to me 'When will it end?' and I have to say I have never been so complimented in all my life, that he would share his despair with me, and act as if I had something useful to say.
