Mine does... and I love it. It used to be Sweetpea, more when I was really having a hard time. Not it is more likely sweetie. And, I have a diminutive of my first name that was my "kid name" growing up, she sometimes calls me that after I told her about it and gave her permission.
I think it's totally natural to enjoy feeling cared for and nurtured and looked out for... and those names evoke that feeling. It's a sort of intimacy...
