I talked to my therapist about this too.

I told him that Paul had left his children and his clients and moved to a new city. I told him that I didn't care if he left his children, but I thought it was awful he left his clients. My therapist laughed and said I was funny.

I told him how much that one woman was hurting even twenty years after being abandoned by him when he moved last time. I asked him if therapists knew how much they could really hurt us with their behavior. Really hurt us. Change our lives hurt us. He said that therapists might try not to think about it. But that yes, they knew. I told him they did it anyway, and asked if that was part of us being more emotionally attached than they were. He said he didn't know. But that he worked very hard to make sure he didn't abandon me.

I think he does. Although I know he might anyway.

I reacted more to that than to the suicide on House, or anything else from In Treatment. I must still have some major abandonment issues. I'm trying to remember what it was in my life that could have set up these humongous fears on the subject.
