Therapists should definitely have undergone their own therapy before seeing patients. Psychoanalysis should be a prerequisite to getting a degree actually, and although medication helps, there is no way we are near having medication be a cure for mental illness, mental disorders, even mood disorders are affected by Thinking and Processing, the way we think and process as individuals has everything to do with our psychic state, it's ridiculous to think that a few neurotransmitters can control everything. We're whole beings, not just chemicals, and doctors themselves admit to knowing naught what they're doing when it comes to what came first, the feeling or the neurotransmitter?
