i am so sorry to hear such terrrible news. you are bearing so much right now.it was NOT your responsibility as a child to protect your brother. your mother s*cked and was terrible, this had nothing to do with you.
you obviously had a good relationship with your brother, hold on to that.
and don't think of it as her 'winning', after all you BOTH survived childhood! so she didn't win there!
and im sure this was partly due to your relationship with eachother. its that bond that helps us survive the worst of times.i dont know what to say except you are in my thoughts and prayers.
