I've heard that when everything else is annilated that only the cockroaches will be left. So perhaps this is about surviving all the hard stuff lately? And that you've had to do some gross things to protect your family, but you are doing it and living through it.
And I agree with Tabitha too, ugly stuff coming up and out.
