Dear Antigua, sweetie: What do I think? No one else can know what is in our minds and thoughts...so it doesn't matter what you t thinks (said respectfully), it ONLY matters what YOU think? Do you think she is right? Of course, we can never return to innocence, once it is lost, but we CAN heal with little tiny baby steps........there are some things we never "get over" (always hated those words), but we live with them in whatever way we can. As humans, we ALL need hugs (daily): i read somewhere that just for basic mental health, we need something like 17 a day! Boy, do I WISH.......divorced after 31 years of abuse; craving touch now; as I am a huggy-kissy- touchy-feely person! Maybe I should take the advice I give others (go to a nursing home and hug those people who are desperate for human touch).......I also want my hug from a man (unfortunately, my therapist won't hug me anymore; doesn;t want it to "feel to good" [to himself]; I believe that is cruel, but more on that later. Bottom line? What do YOU feel about what you need and want; you know that old saying: opinions are like noses; everybody has one. What is YOUR opinion? Hope this makes sense.....if you want to read my story: www.psychiatricjournal.com....entitled: The Transcendent Child on Overcoming Verbal and Spiritual Abuse (overcame a lifetime of abuse).....Here is a HUGE hug from me; wish it could be "real" sweetie....Allison
