You make good points, and to some extent, this is really a semantic argument. I suppose my challenge to the idea of "make me feel" is more from a stance versus parsing out cause and effect. It feels to me to be a more empowered stance to know that *I* am reacting versus *you* (metaphorical you) are causing me to act.The former feels stronger and optimistic, whereas the latter feels a bit like twisting in the wind.
I suppose it's just a knee-jerk reaction of mine to that phrase "make me feel".
