Dream #2...more bizarre looks into my unconscious

Posted by gardenergirl on December 10, 2004, at 23:12:34

Okay, Daisy said to share both, so here goes dream 2.

My husband and I were at the airport. For some reason, I had it in my head it was the Atlanta airport, which we flew thru over Thanksgiving. We were walking around the gate area, and I was looking for a bathroom. (I often dream of needing to find a bathroom, only to wake up and find that I really DO need to go to the bathroom...any else do this?) It seemed like every bathroom I found was really disgustingly dirty. So bad I couldn't bring myself to use them. Although there was a small one tucked into a corner that was almost like a powder room in someone's home, although it did have a stall. This was not so bad, and I think I must have gone in there. There was a middle-aged, sort of heavy set woman washing her hands in there, I remember.

So my husband and I needed to return a rental car, and suddenly we were in this car and driving towards the place where you turn them in. I remember him saying something like the plant (where he must have been doing business) was a certain distance away, and I got the impression we were running late and might miss our plane. I remember the scenery, grassy medians and some smaller trees, a few businesses, etc. as we drove along. Then suddenly we were on this grassy hill outside of the airport building, which looked much more like an office building, and not at all like an airport. The car rental return place was across this big ditch/ravine type thing and down a hill. My hubby wanted me to stay on the airport side, perhaps because he was concerned about our flight. So I stood there and watched him DRAG the rental car by a big chain down the grassy hill, into the ditch, which had some deep water in it at one end, that almost looked like a swimming pool at the edge, and lug it up out of the water and onto a sidewalk. I remember thinking, "Wow, he's really going to do that."

At some point in the dream, when we were wandering inside the airport, I decided that I would use a quart of yellow paint I had and paint a large panel of wood. I only had the quart of paint and a one inch brush, so it didn't go very fast. I don't know why I took this upon myself. There was no one else around. The panel did have some peeling areas, and needed repainting, but hmmm. It also had some texture at the bottom, kind of like a textured ceiling, so I had to kind of "pounce" the brush on it in order to get the paint into all the texture.

There was also a younger woman who worked at the airport who gave us directions at some point. She seemed to know my hubby.

That's about all I can remember. Didn't mention this one to T. So, amateur Ts...have at it!

Thanks. Hope this is fun.
