Going On Two Weeks-Leaving Therapy

Posted by Rigby on November 3, 2004, at 12:32:25

Hi All,

This will be week two that I've felt fine not seeing my therapist who made that "unfortunate mistake."

I did write to her saying I wasn't tweaked anymore but through the process of letting go of therapy I was finding myself to be better off for now. She wrote back saying she was very moved by my email, especially the "imagery around leaving home." Note: There was no imagery around leaving home! Gads. Anyway, she of course said come back anytime, blah, blah, blah. Initially I wanted to respond, but I just let it sit and let it go. Initially I wanted to go back, but I let it sit and let it go.

Anyway, I'm realizing that I do not feel really attached to her emotionally. I've had a few times where I wanted to talk to her to puzzle through and analyze some things but if I give myself a few days to cogitate I can usually come up with something on my own.

I know there are others here in the process of leaving therapy or their therapists--or at least trying to. How is everyone doing? Should we start a Leaving Therapy Support Group???
