gg/dbt/T. follow up

Posted by terrics on November 3, 2004, at 6:46:20

Hi gg, I don't remember if I thanked you for previous info. I read Linehan's book. After you answered my question I tore the house apart looking for it ,but it is lost. I bought a new one...$57.00 ouch. Anyway my T went on vacation and came back totally different. (She is not using rudeness as part of therapy....irreverence in a mean spirited way). She is not using it at all. She is also allowing a bit of herself into therapy. She said that she thought over everything I said to her about rudeness. I would say she has let her guard down a bit. It is very difficult and wearing to treat only borderlines and I am aware of that. The 'vacation' did her good. I can now let my guard down a little too. Just thought you might like a follow up. And although I think the skills in dbt are corny, they work. good luck, and think twice if you choose to treat borderlines. You may be taking more vacations then you like. terrics
