I think you can safely trust your instincts on this one. It seemed to me like climbing a huge mountain when I interviewed four therapists a year and a half ago. I was feeling very depressed and anxious, and felt overwhelmed by all the T's, who were incredibly different, and seemed to offer different diagnoses, also! I ended up just sort of blindly choosing the one that felt the most *right*, not even thinking any of it out rationally. He's turned out to be really wonderful- and more helpful than I would ever have believed. I think this can happen for all of us, if we look- there are lots of terrific therapists out there.
