KK,

(Here I go getting-cerebral again.....)

Of the nine senses, the vagus nerve is reponsible for collecting the "wellness" stuff, and providing a moment by moment snapshot of our....... wellness.

If we view sickness as an event, we deny illness and sickness as part of life as a whole; a process not an event. Children attach expectations to an event; they don't relate to process.

As adults, [if] we keep the habits of obligations and expectations, we perform ever worser and worser, the older we get. However, if between the ages of 15 and 25, we gently and appropriately move into habits of plans, goals, and personal contracts, giving up our childhood obligations (from us) and expectations (to us). We stop seeing sickeness, elation, tiredness, being drunk or loaded, or being angry, as important events. Instead, they are all part of the process.

We can begin a new habit of wearing our adulthood as a "nice-fitting suit". Hypochondria will stop ruling our awareness, and we will start getting sick and well just like everybody else.

I'm not taking any thing away. I am adding to our "war-chest" of talents and attributes. Be curious. See how it fits.

Rod
