Sounds like you probably have hyperactive ADD. The constant talking, getting bored easily, etc. Untreated ADD is devastating. I was not able to move forward in my career until I started taking Strattera. It makes an enormous difference in my ability to think about where I am and what I have to do.

I don't find reading books like "Driven to Distraction" very helpful, myself. "Healing ADD" is a little more interesting to me, because the author distinguishes between subtypes of ADD- the ones that are really important are the Inattentive and Hyperactive types. You might want to take a look at that one.
