As the parent of a 19 year old who is ADHD, LD, and a recovering addict, I can only encourage you to get all the help you possibly can. If you don't, it will become even harder.

I used to hear about self-care,but I thought that meant going out to lunch or getting my nails done. Unfortunately I was going out to lunch with people whose kids were "perfect" achieving scholars/athletes/take your pick.

In retrospect, I wish I had been on meds 15 years ago and going to therapy, too. It would have been nice to have my husband on board, as well.

Hang in there. I feel for you. You have a very tough job. Get help.
