[Addiction]
12 steppers have been sayin' for years , "We all have a built-in 'forgetter'", so now they are vindicated.

Actually, they are talking about an element in the realm of denial. We tend to diminish what we don't understand. What we don't understand, we deny and avoid, so they say. This tends to impede progress during recovery.

[I'm all ears]
I am excited to see what implementations unfold surrounding this neuro data for the therapy community to embrace. Inductive researchers got a bad wrap when therapists started finding suppressed memories that weren't even there, back in the 70s.

Inductive researchers reported tendencies in the severely mentally disabled and therapists "green lighted" a process for their functional clients of "dredging the swamp" of client feelings to find stories to indicate suppressed memories. Stories are never facts, no matter how poignant.
