In my experience hospital docs also have a private practice (which I assume is your case). They usually get discounted office space in turn for being on call and get pretty well paid for those visits to the hospital (like $200+ for 10 minutes). I saw one privately that I met when I was in the hospital- but it did freak me out when I went to the hospital to see him- only because I expected to be involuntarily thrown in at any moment. But that's my phobia and basically he acted the same as any 'traditional' private pdoc, so I don't see why this one won't work for you. best of luck- judy
