Hello all -

I wandered over from Psycho Babble for the first time, and I feel compelled to add my 2 cents here. Reading some of these posts was like a flashback.

My first comment is somewhat rhetorical, but does anyone know of a man that has ever been diagnosed with borderline personality disorder?

And to those who are having difficult relationships with their pdoc or therapist, I would urge you to think about finding someone else. I spent too many years with therapists who were totally wrong for me. It took me years to get comfortable with my current pdoc and therapist after some of the negative experiences I've had, and I'm finally making progress on issues that sent me to therapy in the first place. I know it's incredibly difficult to find someone, and insurance often limits your choices making it even harder, but it may be worth it.

And someone wrote about their pdoc with the typing device, reminding me of a joke. Patient is suspiscious if dr is paying attention. Dr says, I think you need a vacation. May I suggest a Russian seaport, 11 letters? Patient says "Do you mean Vladivostok?" Dr says "Thank you" and fills in crossword. :)
