New here and needs help - please read

I'm new here and wonder if anyone has had a similar experience to mine. I've been taking Gabitril as a mood stabilizer for a year. It worked great at first, now I'm having my first episode of depression/anxiety in over a year. Has anyone else taken it with good results, only to have it stop working (I'm not even sure that it actually stopped working, but haven't felt this bad in a long time)? I thought maybe I should stop taking it for a while then start again, but my psychiatrist thinks this is a bad idea. I don't know why - things can't get much worse.

Also - has anyone combined SAM-e or St. John's Wort with a mood stabilizer?
