Hi Guys,
It's nice to find you! I'm on the same schedule that you are on. I stopped taking Effexor -- well, it will be three weeks on Wednesday. I'm at about 85 percent okay now. I thought it was 90 percent, but I slept through most of today; so maybe I'm not as okay as I thought.
The same "bad word" family practice doctor also mistakenly had the Oxycontin drug rep talk me into taking that one for my back pain, and believe it or not, that was an easier withdrawal. Even though I stopped taking Effexor on a whim, I now go to a terrific internist. He just never asked me why I was taking it or who originally prescribed it.
The best part is that I guess I must eat so well to begin with that the weight came off of me as if I had just given birth. It's almost hard to believe. I had so much fun shopping at Bebe today cause everything fit. The salesgirl laughed at me cause I pulled in some sweaters in "large," and she said that I wasn't a "large." Well, she was right, and I was happy :-).
Do they put something in the drug to make it so painful to stop taking? I took it for three years. If anyone told me about the potential problems, I wouldn't have gone near it in a million years. Effexor=poison, I'm quite sure. The biggest question I have now is, what has it done to our adrenals? Has it poisoned them completely?
Well, the good news is that we're past the hard part, huh? Congratulations everybody!!
