Celexa + risperidone?

Posted by mellow on July 2, 2010, at 0:29:16

Can somebody give me some insight on how Celexa and risperidone can work together. I've been taking both these drugs as well as topamax and lamictal for bipolar II for quite some time. My doc mentioned last session that we could set a goal to have me just on the anti convulsants.

I've been thinking about this a lot lately. I'm n remission and I just wonder what he celexa and risperidone are doing for me. It would be great to eliminate them but if I'm feeling so good it might be worth it to keep them around.

My doc's logic is that the celexa treats my obsessions and nuerotic depression and the risperidone keeps the celexa from pushing me into mania.

It would be good to know how these drugs really work together or if they are just canceling each other out.

Has anyone else stayed in remission on just anti convulsants? Thanks in advance.
