Well for one thing I changed names. ;-)

Here is a run down of what has be going on. I started on low dose prozac for 5-HT2C antagonism in the beginning of October. At first this was 5mg every other day, which is like 2.5 mg per day. After a few weeks I went up to 5mg per day. I noticed that I felt worse, and even lost my appetite and skipped dinner two nights. So I went back to every other day and added buspar 10mg per day. This isn't much buspar but after a week I noticed that I was more motivated. I was getting things done, but still very anhedonic.

I increased prozac to 5mgs, hoping it to work synergistically with Buspar. Instead prozac abolished the benefits of buspar. Its been a week and a half on Prozac. I'm trying to give it the good old college try. Next monday I will increase Buspar to 30mgs per day and see if the motivation comes back. Maybe the 5HT2C antagonism of prozac doesn't start working until a higher dose? I dunno, prozac justs seems to make me tired and unmotivated.

But the boost from buspar was encouraging. Buspar boosts norepinephrine the most, so that may account for the increase in motivation, that is followed by an increase in dopamine and then a decrease in serotonin.

Also I am seeing a psychiatrist now. If you recall I posted an application for a patent for treating SSRI induced anhedonia with dopaminergic agents. Well silly me didn't even notice, even after reading a few times that the inventor is a psychiatrist not too far from me. So I saw him today. He seems really intersted in helping me and figuring out which drugs can help with my symptoms. So far I'm hopeful.

How are things with you? Have you tried any drugs? Are you still in the hospital? Hang in there I'm sure we'll find something that helps.
