A common misconception is meds "add" serotonin as in increased volume of.... Meds like SSRI's merely inhibit the reuptake of serotonin - thus, in theory, having it where should be. There are no serotonin removers or additives that I am aware of. Bodies make enough of this neurochemical but the theory is isn't where it needs to be in those w/ certain mental illnesses. My "grrr" gets up when I see someone say a med CONTAINS serotonin.
