> I remember reading or watching something about a vitamin, or mineral that, when taken daily causes like a 3-5 pound loss per year without changing eating habits. It's not a diet pill or a diet supplement. It's a basic supplement. I think there may have been double blind studies on it. It's not a super popular weight loss pill because of the very slow weight loss it causes.

> Deneb*Maybe you're thinking of CLA (conjugated linoleic acid)? It's a minor fat in dairy products (produced by bacteria during digestion in ruminants). The synthetic product actually has slightly higher efficacy than the natural one.
I believe it produces 1-3% increase in metabolic rate? Something like that. Better fat metabolism, but modestly so.
The chromium supps have a threshold effect. Some people need more than other people do, and once they get a supplement regime going, their metabolisms normalize. I don't think there's any supra-physiological activity if you don't need extra.

P.S. I don't think the supplement you're looking for is cheesecake. ;-)
