Weight gain and medication: Exercise?

Posted by Borderliner86 on September 10, 2006, at 0:37:46

Hi, i have been diagnosed with Borderline personality disorder for 2 years, a recent change to moclobemide and olanzapine is working wonders for my head. However i have been gaining almost a full kilo each week since. I'm a skinny bloke so i have some time to plan what to do about the weight gain before it becomes a health issue.
Any advice on what kinds of exercise are useful in treating symptoms of mental illness and fighting weight gain? Would a dietary change also be necessary?
I have many questions, i guess im just looking for motivation to go and get a gym membership down the road. Not sure if my social anxiety is ready for something like that tho.
I sort of feel trapped. if i continue gaining weight like this and dont make a change im going to be one of those fat lazy people who dont socialize at all. U know the type i used to point my finger at and laugh.
Damn kalma works in unexpected ways!
