So sad...I didn't really know him as an actor, except for Brokeback Mountain, but the things I have read about him make me so sad, espeically about his recent breakup with Michelle Williams, they were lovly together. That may have been his downfall. Also that new movie he was in about 'The Joker' affected him so much because the character was such a horrific one.
I saw things about him that made me feel like he was really suffering, he was obviously depressed and insomnia was one symptom of it. He was not a drinker or a drug addict, from what I hear, just someone who was hurting and trying to go to sleep, when obviously something more seriously was going on. The schedule he was keeping and the traveling to Australia and back to New York and then to London could make anyone have insomnia. But i'm sure it was depression. An interviewee said when he saw him a few weeks ago, he looked as though he hadn't showered or washed his hair for a long time. This was an actor who usually is so particular about appearances, although he was quite reserved.
He was a kind and gentle soul, very sensitive and wise beyond his years.
It's so sad he will never be with his daughter again, the resemblance is uncanny. Look at her face. Everytime someone looks at her, they will see his face.
