I did love my dad. My last memory of him was while he was in the hospital for palliative care. He was drinking a beer (Molson Export) witha straw from the can, and pinching a nurse's behind. Morphine was a blessing. I also have a note he wrote (he was unable to talk) directing my brother to take his car - a land yacht of an Oldsmobile - to be cleaned and prepped so it could be sold. I keep it with me at all times.

He left hardly any unfinished business. I truly believe that he was relieved when he was told he was dying, because he was a very melancholy man. I miss him every day.
