I have the same beliefs about my pets........I had a dog, who was more like a human, that I found as a puppy, taped and tied up in a box on a busy street, named Tippy. Tippy went everywhere with me. I worked on a photography book for years and he was with me every step of the way. I have a line of notecards, 12, with his photographs on them....he was my best friend. I KNOW that I've heard his toenails on the floor at night and I believe that he checks on me....I can sense his spirit at times of great stress and I know that he's with me then. My mother became paralyzed and up until then he had never slept a night outside of my bedroom...he took on the gift of sleeping by her bed in her room. She would stir at night and he would wag his tag against the wall!! Then I would hear her say "Tippy, Tippy".....and she would go back to sleep. She could not speak otherwise. Long story short, I know that the first thing he did when he left me was look her up and they took a real walk together. Him by her side.....Occasionally I think I see Loveheart on the front porch and then I realize it's a shadow or is it? My old cat, Amsu, has gotten much more affectionate after she has been gone. Sleeps much closer to me and stays near in the evenings. xoxoxopat
