Dena, what does Christ mean then? If it was Jewish tradition to name a person after their father, Jesus Christ should mean Jesus, Son of God. Or Jesus Christ Son of God, which is exactly what He is referred to in the Bible. We shouldn't ask, but was he?
John 10:15,17,18
15 As the Father knoweth me, even so know I the Father: and I lay down my life for the sheep.
17 Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again.
18 No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father.There has been a little controversy over what it means to call Jesus Christ, Son of God. My vote is that he is. What's yours?
