I don't think Thomas could have been part of the Apocrapha because it was found in the 50's maybe at Nag Hamadi (sp?) which might be in Egypt. It's wonderful, RD Laing quoted from it as a foreword to one of his books, I can't find either of course but the quote I'm thinking of is so flashy, it's a real gem on any level and 20 years later I still think of it. It's all Jesus speaking, no 3rd person narrative, so the gospel has no story as such.
