Where did that come from? (Sex talk???)

I have prayed all my life to be able to understand God's purposes in that area, and at best all I have discovered is that if a person unleashes her/his sexuality in the wrong way it can be like a powder keg. Please allow me to explain.

Will and Ariel Durrant after a lifetime of observing history wrote: "A youth boiling with hormones will wonder why he (she) should not give full freedom to his (her) sexual desires, and if he (she) is unchecked by custom, morals, or laws, he (she) may ruin his (her) life before he (she) matures sufficiently to understand that sex is a river of fire that must be banked and cooled by a hundred restraints if it is not to consume in chaos both the individual and the group".

The Lord has made us attractive to each other for a great purpose. But this very attraction becomes a powder keg unless it is kept under control. It is beautiful when handled in the right way. It is deadly if it gets out of hand.

Those who indulge in sexual activity outside the bonds of marriage do irreparable damage to themselves and rob the one with whom they are involved of that which can never be restored. There is nothing clever about this kind of so-called conquest. It carries with it no laurels, no victories, no enduring satisfaction. It brings only shame, sorrow, regret, and often disease. Those who so indulge cheat themselves and rob another. In so doing, they affront their Father in Heaven, for they are children of God. I know that this is strong language, plainly spoken. But the trend of our times calls for strong language and plain words.

Me: I would venture to guess that 50% of the problems on these forums could have been prevented if everyone had been true to this principle (commandment). Does immorality cause depression, or does depression cause immorality?

Now, I realize the preceding only covers sexuality outside of marriage, but it affects it, in that generally a person cannot be true to their spouse for longer than about 5 years when they have been sexually active outside the marriage. Or it is much harder to, and you can find many ways of bending the rules to make it seem like you are being true, when in actuality you are making it more difficult for others, by saying or doing things that make them attracted to you.

And, what about Porn? How many billions is America spending on it? God cannot be pleased with that at all. If we really care about God's will or his way of doing things, sex is a hot topic, and one that is better cooled in public.

(I shouldn't have started) but people of my faith believe that America is a promised land, one where religious freedom is guaranteed, though not without struggle. And, being such, the promise is that as long as the inhabitants believe in god and keep his commandments they will be protected. But when they don't, boom. There is always a way to turn it around, and that is to keep the commandments. That is the whole message of the Book of Mormon, also to teach Jew and Gentile that Jesus is the Christ, and even if you don't believe it, I highly recommend a read. every word, the word of God, not many books can make that claim. In fact, it may be the only one. Even the Bible lays claim to interpretation error, or discrepencies between interpretations. I love the bible, don't get me wrong. Peter especially, I mean he knew the whole story.

Well, that's my sex talk girls, now yours? ? ...
