Hi Judy if you search for ACIM on the net you get all sorts of stuff about it. I would say it's a new-age religious system (not in any pejorative sense) written in heavily Christian language, although Zen and many other systems take you the same route. ACIM would probably say it gets there quicker. I think modern religious systems, ever since the mind-cure movements of the late 19th century, have centred on "letting go". ACIM is no exception but is probably more specific than most.
Sometimes it seems to go too fast for me. As St Augustine said (roughly) "not yet". If you do have a look at it I would love your opinion. I think mentally unstable people like me need to take it gently. The book says if you go too fast it can precipitate panic, which would not be a constructive outcome. I'll send details of the book shortly
