Do you believe that the future will be like the past?
An example of the future being like the past is that the sun will rise tomorrow, or that the 'laws of nature' (whatever they are) will continue to govern natural events not only in the past but into the future as well. That is a matter of faith. No ammount of evidence (which must be taken from the past) can provide grounds for believing in any future event - not without faith that the future will be the same as the past in certain respects.
That is a matter of faith. Science cannot tell us that the future will be like the past, rather it is an assumption that is required. It is a matter of faith.
There are loads of things that come down to faith in the absense of evidence. Assuming the best about peoples motives / intentions is another.
You may not have faith in god, but you probably have a lot of faith in other stuff. Stuff that you take for granted without realising it.
My personal belief is that there are many different things that one can have faith in. God is one of them. If you don't have faith in god then you don't miss out on faith, however, because there are oh so many things one can have faith in.
