Thanks Ray. I often find it hard to motivate myself spiritually but I do remember that striving to get closer to God helped my illness. I felt more at peace.
But now I feel more cynical about everything and it's harder not to question.
I am glad your swings are under control...It's amazing that you haven't needed supplements or medication for such a long time...Good for you!

As we strive to be obedient we are blessed with faith which enables us to strive more. This can be self-propelling and motivating, and it can also keep us pointed in the right direction (toward God). It is often the source of healing. For me, as I strive to keep the commandments I am able to focus more on the right things. My bipolar mind doesn't wander to such extremes, and as long as I take care of my health, I can keep my swings pretty much under control.
