suffering fear and enlightenment

Posted by Jai Narayan on August 19, 2004, at 9:33:34

In the Buddhist tradition suffering brings you to the need/desire to alievate suffering which then can bring you onto the path toward enlightenment.

Suffering seems to be a part of being on this planet.

The few beings that are beyond suffering are enlightened. I have never met one as far as I know. They may be quietly moving amoung us on a daily basis.

My goal in this lifetime is to step onto this path and move beyond suffering.

I am such a beginner.
I suffer on a daily basis.

I suffer less now that I don't make Fear my constant friend/enemy. That process took a monumental piece of therapy using EMDR for 4 years. I had a very traumatic childhood.

So here I am.

One foot at a time walking to the buddha within.
