To Overcome; for jay and others

Posted by Lou Pilder on February 7, 2003, at 20:26:24

Friends,
For the past year and a half or so I have been writing about those that [Overcome]. To Overcome is to do something. It is to be able to have power Over what had previously had power over you. Let me explaine.
I have a frind that has muliple sclerosis. He is an Overcomer. He still has multiple sclerosis. But he is not under the affliction, but on top of the affliction. He has Overcome. He has peace and joy. even with multiple sclerosis. You see, to Overcome is also to Come Over. He has come over to The Kingdom of God and has peace and joy. No longer does he feel sorry for himself or let his affliction rob him of peace and joy. He is not going to be a world class bowler as he thought he would before he was stricken. He will not be able to do the job that he had gone to college for and was successful at for many years before he was stricken. But he can have peace and joy because he is the Victor. He has conquered the dread of his affliction and rides on a White Horse as a conquerer through the Gates of freedom. He has Overcome the thoughts that are lies that the world tells to those that are suffering. He has Overcome himself.
I have been telling here of a spiritual experiance that I had. I was on a Road. And that Road had obstacles that one had to Overcome. And that Road led to The Crown of Life and on that Road I had an encounter with a Rider on a White Horse. And He spoke to me and said, "To him that Overcomes I will grant for him to sit with Me on My throne, as I have Overcome and sat down with My Father on His throne." And I said to Him, "I can not do those things that you have called for me to do to Overcome. I can not love my enemy like you have said to do. I can not forgive those that have harmed me. I can not be perfect as you have said to be." The Rider turned to me and said, "With man those are impossible, but with God, all things are possible."
Lou
