You get what you wish for........

Does anyone else hold the belief that it you really want something that you will get it ? I mean you have to really, really, really want it, no half hearted attempts !!!
I have always felt this way and usually end up getting the things that I want. My friends seem to think that I am just lucky, but I believe otherwise.
Also do you believe that when things happen, that 'it was meant to be'? Sometimes I like this attitude, beacause it lets you off the hook in a way. Sometimes it infuriates me when somebody says this, like fate has taken over their life and they cannot control it, it seems a silly way to live.
What do you think ?
