hmmm... from what I've heard about fasting, it actually *lowers* your metabolic rate, and most of the weight lost will be water weight. Plus, when you *do* start eating again, you might end up binging. I dont know any of this from personal experience, since i've gone on a "fast" (restricted, yes; completely abstained from food, no); this is just what I've read & heard from other people. Also, the digestive system was designed for use... it doesnt require "cleansing", other than a steady daily intake of fluids & fiber.
Of course, if you want to fast, that's your choice, but I wouldnt reccommend it. whatever you do, take care & stay safe!
