Hi Spriggy,
I have an autistic sister... it only (!) took 5 years with her, but I remember it being very difficult for my parents. So I can sympathize and wanted to help you if I could. I found a couple of articles:
http://www.kypost.com/2004/02/04/toilet020404.html
http://www.autismtoday.com/articles/potty_training.htmand a book: "Toilet Training for Individuals with Autism and Related Disorders " (hope I did the double quote thingie right)
Really, I just did a Google search (potty train autistic child). You've probably already done exhaustive research but maybe these will help?
Good luck!! It's so difficult parenting an autistic child... my son isn't autistic (that I know of, he's only 20 months) but like I said, my sister is, and my brother is Asperger's, so I've seen what my parents go through.
