I've been taking 500 to 1,500mg of N-acetyl-L-cysteine for mood swings, OCD and anxiety for over a year. Seemed to take effect about 2 months after starting: Improved sleep, more calm, less anxiety were the result. At that time I also took it with Savella.
I stopped Savella as it seemed to be bothering my heart and prostate condition. Now I'm on Emsam and NAC and it seems I can't tell if the NAC is still working.
The lack of posts here about NAC have me concerned. Is NAC dead?
Seems there is a big variation in performance with different brands. I don't like to mention brand names but I have tried several. The only one that seems to work for me is the Bluebonnet NAC.
