Gotu Kola, thanks for mentioning that. I've experimented with many plants but that is one I missed. I have read widely varying responses of it over the years, so obviously it still falls under the rule 'mileage varies'. I'm all for trying new stuff, so thanks for bringing it up.
CFS. Fibro. Lyme. MS. These are all kind of in the same family, much overlap, difficult to draw boundary lines. Any of them, or similar diseases, can look like another and be diagnosed as another, and then of course treated wrongly with subpar results.
Interesting story. A Lyme specialist I used to see became an expert on accident. He began as a Pain and Fatigue specialist. So obviously, most of his patients were CFS, Fibro, arthritis. But over the years he noticed an interesting trend....when his patients had to take antibiotics for some other unrelated reason, their symptoms got better. Eventually through experience, testing, and hunch from clues, it became apparent that most of these patients actually had.....Lyme disease, not CFS, not Fibro, not anything else. They all have one thing in common....an immune system in confusion.....a civil war inside your own body where your own army is attacking your own healthy flesh as if it was a foreign substance.
The best treatments I have seen for any of those conditions include a variety of herbs commonly used for Lyme, antibiotics, adaptogens, specific food choices or avoidances, and LDN. In terms of foods, the most guilty offenders likely to worsen symptoms include gluten and dairy.
