Hi,
I was wondering if anyone here has had any long-term success using herbs, vitamins, or other dietary supplements to combat excessive sleep. I have had several supplements alleviate my hypersomnia temporarily -- SAM-e, l-glutamic acid, kola nut (which I currently take), ATP-20, and spirulina come to mind -- but nothing that's ever helped out in the long run. Medications that have helped my hypersomnia include the MAOIs and SSRIs, but none of the MAOIs that I took helped me indefinitely, and the SSRIs just created problems with rapid cycling. So, if anyone here has ever had long-term success with any dietary supplements for hypersomnia, I'd like to hear about it.
