TMG depression

Posted by johnnybaklava on March 6, 2011, at 14:17:11

Hello!
My doctor gave me a methylated B-complex formula that has 600mg of TMG in it. The first day I felt pretty good. The second day I felt a slump in the afternoon. The third day I was OK. The fourth day I felt a low-grade despair in the late afternoon, that went away after taking a little holy basil. I've been reading a lot about methylation (I'm going to be taking a test soon to learn more about how my body processes methyls) and TMG seemed like a great way to give me a little boost, plus help with homocysteine levels. In any case, has anyone else had this reaction? If so, should I just stick with it and see if it goes away? When looking at the over vs. under methyl symptoms, I seem to have a little of both. Inositol, for the few times I tried it, made me irritable (like tyrosine, yet oddly phenylalanine works great for me) but my neurotransmitter test definitely showed me low in serotonin. Thanks!
