This is just a list of vitamins that have helped me for bipolar depression. I have listed them before, but to anyone new, this information may be helpful:
Vitamins C and E, Vitamin B6, B12, and B1, fish and borage oils, manganese, zinc picolinate, selenium, and P5P (form of B6).
A combination of P5P and regular B6 is more helpful.
The difficult part is establishing the correct dosages of each vitamin for your individual needs. This may take some time and patience. Start off low and gradually increase until you find a dosage you're comfortable with. Here are some daily dosages that I find comfortable for me:
Vitamin C--500mg per day
Vitamin E--200IU in the morning and 400IU at bedtime
Vitamin B6/P5P--50mg of regular B6 combined with 50mg of P5P
Vitamin B1--100mg in the morning and 100mg at bedtime
Vitamin B12--highly individual. Anywhere from 250mcg on up.
fish oil--1,500mg per day
borage oil--1,300mg per day
manganese--10mg in the morning
Zinc picolinate---highly individual. I find that 44mg per day is my target dose, but it could be more or less for you.
selenium--50mcg during the day and 200mcg at bedtime. This is all I have to report currently. I hope this is helpful information to anyone new.
