Mogger,

I used to take taurine to combat my lithium-induced agitation and irritability. It worked pretty well without worsening my depressive symptoms. The downside to it for me was that I used to have to keep taking more of it every few hours if I wanted its effects to last.

It might be worth trying it, if you haven't done so already.
