Okay I wasn't sure if I should post this in the alternative forum or not since it is a question of medication that I'm currently on and looking to get off of.
Anyway, I ordered some Picamilon capsules 50mg each and I've been reading about people taking it - but not in combination with benzos (ie., using it while tapering). I was curious if anyone has experience doing this? I'm worried that the released GABA may compete with the benzos and cause a paradoxical reaction and I can't find any information anywhere on this.
I'm on 1mg of Klonopin 3 times a day and its been extremely effect for my anxiety and panic - very very very rarely do I panic now when I used to panic daily and developed quite a rapid escalation in Xanax usage (and thus, dependence) from the resulting panic attacks that would occur once the 3-4 hours that it actually did anything were over. So we switched to Klonopin.
Now I want to get off the Klonopin. The long term toll on my GABA system scares the crap out of me.
I was hospitalized recently and they tried tapering me off the Klonopin by giving me propranolol. That was a disaster.
