I see that schizophrenia is linked to gluten sensitivity and other auto-immune problems. I saw the case of the woman diagnosed with schizophrenia who'd been hallucinating for over 60 years and stopped when they put her on a gluten-free diet.
A site called the gluten files links to some of these research studies: http://jccglutenfree.googlepages.com/schizophrenia
And here is more: http://itsnotmental.blogspot.com/2009/01/brain-health-gluten-disconnection.htmlWhat is odd is I now know two people with bipolar helped going gluten-free (they are also dairy-free), and one with schizophrenia. I read people with autism-spectrum do this diet a lot, but I don't see it much being used for bipolar and schizophrenia.
I am on a gluten-free diet, also.
